She's pressured for time.
she thinks it'll never be enough.
she believes beyond doubt that
shes the unchanging diamond in the rough.
She thinks shes stagnant, un-moving and unchanging.
She beats herself up for it, her resolve slowly breaking.
she visualizes what could have been,
and watches what really is now
and really, she wishes she could turn back time
and start all over somehow.
She sits on the last pew,
the one who'd seen her through it all.
but this time it's different. This time, she's pulled down.
on her knees she falls
and in that empty house of the mighty force, she questions her faults
she lets the pain burst out in the form of streams that hug her skin and mourn her dreams.
and as her body shakes with sobs, and chokes that overpower her entire soul
She prays to the one that brought her there and speaks out her wishes and hopes
and after she's spoken her bit, she sits in silence to acknowledge it.
She doesn't see her two guardian angels sitting just a pew away
but that's because they've told her, from her dreams ahead, to never look away
They have her back for ever and a day
she should know by now, they won't let her go astray
Subconsciously, it is those two angels that draw her to this safe place
and their whispers to each other, reach her ears
those voices she had come to term now as very dear.
and when she sits silently, with an excuse to be in prayer
she listens in on the angels there.
they speak of her strength, the one they've seen grow in her since the day she was born
they speak of her beauty, the one that radiates like the rise of the morn
they speak of how little she thinks of herself, when really she's quite a work of art
they speak of how music runs in her veins, it'll never grow apart
they speak of how she constantly thinks she's not getting anywhere
they speak of how she thinks life's unfair.
and in all that she hears from their all too intentionally loud whispers
which she knows were purposely so,
she knows their a sneaky pair, who knows just what they're here to do.
and somewhere between everything she heard them say
she decided that this was just one of those gloomy days
she smiles to herself and to her invisible force she came to talk to
and get's up, walks to the door and through.
The two sneaky angels, extremely proud and glad,
gloat in their ability to give her hope and comfort.
Diamonds in the rough are just going through a phase
passing on from one stage in life to a much better place.
she knows just exactly who those two miracles sitting behind her are
they're the ones who helped her get this far.
and with the assurance that they'll catch her, if ever, she were to fall
she strides out confidently, feeling great, empowered, and tall.
she has her moments when life hits her in the face
but she knows now, she controls her life, she sets her own pace.
Wow.......erudite and very insightful. Really nice Faye.
