With A Heavy Heart

Be not so far away, dear heart
think not about the miles apart
stay close to me, wherever you wander
Be my comfort in the storms and thunder
Stay brave and daring and forever passionate
And all that love, forever let it resonate
Touch hearts, every single one you find
But not like me, not like you touched mine
Call me selfish and very unkind
But dear heart, you've taken over me, body, soul and mind
Every cloud away you go
love will follow, love will grow
Love will be your guardian angel
love will keep you near, I know
Dear heart, worry not about this meek one,
I am but a fighter, battles like this, won.
Won’t ever show it, don’t even know it
But for you, sweet heart, I’ll chase the sun.
Distance does some cruel things
challenges a love and all it’s worth
but in the end it sweetens the tie
fans a fire that makes a heart- a home and hearth
Go, dear heart, and do your thing,
shine and let your passion sing.
Be you in all you do
And to you, this heart will always cling.
Distance got nothing on us I say
I’ll love you across seas, and miss you in every way
Come back soon, whenever be that day
Come home, dear love, Come home to stay.

Wild Heart

A slave to a red muscle
Putty in its hands
We fall for what out hearts dictate
Fools, every woman and man

No ruler has been as cruel as this
And yet so very kind
To dictate to us our every word
And drive us, the best love to find

This heart it searches until it's found
The one it thinks will care
Hunts one down, one that's willing
Willing a love to share

Don't underestimate your little heart dear friend
It can surprise you, what it does
It'll make you want what can be,
And forget everything that was.

Just when you think you're drowning deep
Your heart will take a turn so steep

Nothing will stop it, once it's found it's destination
No mountain, no sea, no damnation

The heart will makes it way through anything
When it's set it's eyes on what it wants
No amount of control you have will get in its way
No introspection, no meditation, no taunt.

Your heart can be stubborn and so very determined
And in the end it will reach the place it wants to
However in that state of happiness and bliss
It'll lose itself completely, to any affection or kiss

Be careful dear, of your heart so wild
she can be matured and responsible, but in love, she'll be a child

She'll sit on your sleeve and throw herself where she's called
She is hungry and needy, craving the love and the fall

She's felt it before, the pain of being torn apart
Yet she can't help it, this love-hungry heart

Tame her, teach her, let her see her worth
She is a fire within herself , a home and hearth

Let that fire forever burn but never go out
Let her love unconditionally, without any doubt

Look out for yourself wild heart
Look out and be aware
Don't give yourself away completely
Remember, to love is to share.

Quest of a Lifetime

Beauty beyond words she is
Love, passion, intellect and his
She knows not what a change she's brought
To a life that between loneliness and crowds was caught

She smiles at the ground sometimes when he's around
Too shy to let him see
He knows all to well they're falling hard
Diving hard and fast into love's sea

She's outspoken, generous and so special to him
He can't begin to describe how much
She'll never know how much he cares
He wants to show her through every kiss and touch

She's an enigma to him
A mystery he can't bring himself to understand
How any human could have the power
To invade a heart of a man.

He ponders how he never thought he'd get here
How she was never part of his plan
But now his life's about loving her
And forever holding her hand.

Shes a blessing in disguise
Sent for him to love
And who is he to not appreciate
a gift sent from above?

He'll forever stand in awe of her
And forever be by her side
He'll move mountains for her
Maybe even change the tides

He's determined to give her nothing less
Than the love he knows she deserves
He'll give her love in all ways he can
Appreciate all her edges and curves.

And every other dimension of her
He wishes to know by-heart
So that he can one day vow to her at the front of the aisle
"Till death do us part"

The Act

Nothing hurts more than to know
that all of it was just a show
the curtains were raised, he saw his stage
and voila, the crowds began to roar

It was the thrill, and not his skill
that made him play the role he did
The name, the fame, he had no shame
to have taken her heart and played a game

The lights came on, he sang his song
of love and all it's glory
She should have known, he wrote the script
and to him this was all just a story

He pranced around to the lively sound
music that filled the hall
an act so deceitful and so betraying
She had never predicted the fall

Every hero has a tragedy
Every tale has an end
Her hero ended up to be her tragedy
A broken tale with no hope for mend

The credits rolled in, the cast lined up
their bows they took and the flowers gathered at their feet
She looked on at him from behind the wings
The actor in him, a role he'll keep.

Heart A-Part

They were two different people, Too young to ever know.
She was more, He either didn't know, or didn't show
She was everything. He ignored.
She gave him her heart, He threw a dart
He shot like a pro, He didn't know
She was his target at first
But now things had gotten worse
It hurt, it pained her
He was breaking everything they were
He wasn't the same
She felt like a game
He played around and thought it cool
He should have seen she was no fool
He thought she'd always be there
and took for granted her love
She saw right through his immaturity
and decided to rise above
She walked away and gave him no say
She'd see to him another day
Her heart was better than a thing of play
She knew she'd hurt, but she'd be okay
Walking away seemed the hardest part
but he never really deserved her sweet heart
She should have seen it from the very start
He wasn't one to ever be smart
Two different worlds they'd been
Two different loves they'd seen
Things and people change
She feared their love had turned strange
Excuses and lies
Forced conversations and 'whys'
Either she had changed or he did
but she knew it was time to call it quits
And quit was what she did in the end
Hoping to call him, at least a friend
anything more just proved to show
They were two different people, Too young to ever know.

One

When One called, the other answered
One reached, the other held
One caught the other when they fell
One kept the secret, the other had to tell
One filled every space the other felt within
One loved the other, through thick and through thin
One brought a smile when the world brought the tears
One fought the demons that brought on the fears
One stayed strong for the weaker of the two
and One kept their love alive and true
While One screamed the other did too
and then they cried together painting over the blues
One smiled and the other grinned
One took control and the other gave in
One called the other out on any fault made
One saw to it, their love would never fade
One put the pieces together, when brokenness took over
One got drunk on love while the other seemed sober
One gave everything to let the other know
That One they would be and forever it would show
One is who they are, whether near or far
One is what they'll be no matter the scars
One Through the heat and the cold
and even when the thunder sounds bold
One heart made of two, united in every season
One person to live for, One love, One reason.
Two they say is better than One
But I believe Two are only better when they can be One.

Word Lust

She sits all alone in the corner of that library
Reading a world she wishes to slip into
One that's brighter than the one she lives in
One where lies are false and love is true.

She escapes into a world of words
Finds her place between each alphabet
And just as well as the words reach into her
She reaches in, and to the story takes herself near

She drowns into an ocean of thoughts that each new page brings
She allows every line to sink into her
Till the moment her heart stings

Stings to know she'll only have this
as long as she's looking into a book.
She'll only be happy when the words surround
As long as she allows herself the solitude of that nook

In her corner surrounded by words and readers alike
she found a place that brought peace of mind
where her demons preferred to sit quiet
and allow her, the word-hungry soul in her, to find

Her need for words to console and words to make whole
is a need that will never grow old
She falls between the pages when the world can't carry her anymore
She is cradled and nestled in the comfort of the pages, that just seem to know

In that spot in the library she's found more to life
Than she ever could elsewhere
She's a dreamer, a doer, possess a lust for words
The girl with a story to share

It is there she fell in love and stayed
There all her confessions made
Only pages of the books she read
Have seen her colors brighten and fade

They've seen her in her loneliness and also in her joy
She's turned to them for every overwhelming feeling
And every ass disguised as a boy

Those books will tell her story
To some young reader like her one day
The hearts shes drawn or the tears that stained pages
all will have something to say

The dog ears and crumples of pages over-read
All will tell the tale of the girl
who for anything other than her fictional world, never cared

In that world of fiction lies her heart
And there is where it chooses to stay
Who needs reality and all it's problems
when happiness is found in the unreal anyway.
